Delegation of Major Corporation CEO’s Visit The American University of Bahrain (AUBH)

Riffa, Bahrain: Dr. Susan E. Saxton, Founding President of the American University of Bahrain (AUBH), and the CEO of Mumtalakat, HE Khalid Al Rumaihi, welcomed a delegation of senior officials from Bahrain’s major corporations, who were given a socially-distanced tour of the University’s state-of-the-art campus. The delegation included Chief Executive Officers from NBB, Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain Airport Company, and other senior officials from major Bahraini corporations, all of which are under the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company portfolio and are significant contributors to the Kingdom’s economy and national labor force.

HE Al Rumaihi and Dr. Saxton welcomed the delegation, presented them with an overview of Bahrain’s thriving educational landscape and the importance of a quality education becoming a student’s international passport to the world,  prior to highlighting the University’s commitment to positioning Bahrain as the regional hub for quality higher education, producing graduates with the skills, knowledge, and behaviors required to succeed in the global economy while contributing to the sustainable and competitive growth of Bahrain.

HE Al Rumaihi stated: “Establishing strong connections between the business sector and  educational institutions have numerous long-term benefits and is a key driver in defining the competitiveness of the future workforce while enhancing the economic growth and development of the Kingdom. ”

Dr. Saxton commented: “In the last year, we have seen how technology can transform education by facilitating engaging and interactive learning experiences that go beyond communicating via video.  Students have opportunities to “meet” experts in their field of study and interact with inspiring professionals around the world.  While students are learning online, they are concurrently sharpening technical skills and online protocols that will be necessary in a global workforce—a great advantage for AUBH graduates as collaboration at a distance becomes the norm and not an exception.”

The University’s innovative and “borderless” approach to creating a globally-minded and technically savvy workforce is in line with its mission to offer an accessible, American-style teaching and learning experience in Bahrain, on par with the best universities around the world.
