Dr. Raja Ghozi
Experienced academic, Dr. Raja Ghozi serves as Associate Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at AUBH. She has an extensive professional career in engineering education, research and development with a rich history of multidisciplinary collaborations. She has supervised undergraduate students through their senior graduation projects leading into their employment. She further supervised master and doctoral level students in a wide range of disciplines.
Before joining AUBH, Dr. Ghozi taught undergraduate and graduate students at the Pioneering Ecole Nationale d'Ingenieurs de Tunis (ENIT) of the University of Tunis El Manar (UTM) in Tunisia. There, she successfully developed and taught courses such as Applied Mathematics; Probability and Statistics for Engineers; Control Systems Theory; Analog and Digital Electronics; Circuit Analysis; Digital Signal Analysis; and Digital Image Processing.
Following the completion of her Ph.D., she worked in the Telecom Software Engineering Department of Nortel Networks in North Carolina. She later served as a consultant for a software telecommunications company in establishing collaboration with universities. Throughout the years, her research evolved from fundamental visual data modeling using multi-scale and fractals theory to the emerging field of affective computing. Over the past decade, she introduced the use of portable sensors in tracking human physiological signals as a key element in her applied research of assessing human stress levels, in various real-world settings. She further participated in several national and international projects with renowned academic and industrial institutions.
Dr. Ghozi holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of California Davis and completed Master’s and Bachelor's Degrees in ECE from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, USA.
