Dr. Lilian Issa Hallak
Dr. Lilian Issa Hallak serves as Associate Professor and Program Lead of Multimedia Design at AUBH. Her extensive experience spans over 11 years in the design industry and 15 years in academics. Throughout her career, her interests included design and research in various aspects of multimedia; visual communication; design and strategic advantage; art and design in education; digital media; and design management.
Before joining AUBH, Dr. Hallak worked with national and international advertising firms on a variety of projects. She joined the Enhanced Productivity Centers Program in Jordan as Media Manager, working on the development and implementation of an awareness campaign for the program in local communities. She also supervised all corporate communication activities for 22 centers throughout the Kingdom.
Furthermore, Dr. Hallak managed the conceptual development and implementation of a yearly design exhibition for the past 13 years, aiming to demonstrate and explore the expanding role of design and designers in the region. In 2018, she was assigned as Chairperson of the Education & Training Quality Authority Panel, as part of Bahrain’s General Directorate of National Qualifications Framework (GDQ) to look over a Master Degree program. She is actively engaged with academic research as well. In 2020, she published two books: ‘Design Patterns: Digital Patterns from Nature and Man-made Objects’ and ‘Triangle of Colour Selection Components’.
Dr. Hallak has taken part in creative art and design judges' panels such as the Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Competition for Designers and has managed and participated in community activities such as the Royal Charity Organization (RCO) / The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF) Students Prize Artwork for Children in Need, as well as Art Reach Bahrain.
Dr. Hallak has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Arts and a Master of Arts in Design Management. Her Doctoral research encompassed several studies focusing on design management; multimedia design; and the role of communication strategies.
