Associate Professor - Business Studies and Economics

An active researcher and teaching professional, Dr. Hanan Naser serves as an Associate Professor of Business Studies and Economics at AUBH. Her rich academic background  provides a critical understanding of the intersection between economics, oil resources, and economic development.

Prior to joining AUBH, Dr. Naser taught at the Arab Open University (AOU), Bahrain, as an Assistant Professor of Business Studies and Economics. She further served as the university’s Head of Research Council, aimed at encouraging, revising and organizing research projects and activities. During her teaching career, she has taught multiple undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has supervised many MBA students’ theses research in the fields of management and economics. To shed a light on students' talents, improved weaknesses and path for academic and career progression, she served as an academic advisor for both undergraduate and master level students at AOU.

Dr. Naser is the co-founder and member of the Advisory Board of Bahrain Research Consortium, a non-profit organization aimed at conducting research activities to assist entrepreneurs and SMEs. She has participated in more than 25 international education and economics conferences to present her research, mostly focused on energy economics, oil prices, financial economics, environmental issues, and economic growth. Her experience includes an extensive line of international publications which she authored and co-authored. In recognition of her ongoing commitment to teaching and student learning, she was recognized as a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FEHA) by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK in 2018. This honor was followed by a Senior Fellowship certificate (SEHA) from the same academy in 2019.

Dr. Naser received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sheffield, UK, in 2014. She completed a Master of Arts in Business Administration at the New York Institute of Technology, New York (U.S.), and undergraduate studies at the University of Bahrain, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
