AUBH Holds Orientation for Incoming Spring Semester Students

The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) held an orientation session today for newly admitted students, beginning their higher education journey within Bahrain’s first American-style University. Students were given a full university orientation, including a welcome from Dr. Susan E. Saxton, Founding President, Dr. Mark D. Shermis, Provost, Mrs. Amal Al Awadhi, Director of Student Affairs and AUBH’s newly elected Student Council. The students were then presented with their Enrollment Certificates by Dr. Saxton, to commemorate the event. The students enrolled across AUBH’s three Colleges of Business & Management, Engineering and Architecture & Design, and will benefit from the University’s holistic approach to education, which focuses on creating well rounded and work-ready graduates through a focus on soft skills as well as academia.

Dr. Susan E. Saxton, AUBH’s Founding President commented: “I very much enjoyed welcoming our incoming spring semester students today, and seeing in person how they represent our values here at AUBH. I am sure this cohort will do great things and I congratulate them all on the start of their university journey today.”

Part of the new cohort, Ms. Reem Murad, who is studying Multimedia and Design, commented: "I'm really happy to be part of the inaugural class here at AUBH. The campus is amazing and I am so happy to see such a diverse community here. Being that I am a transfer student from the US, it feels like I never left, and I really value the unique American-style approach that AUBH offers.”

AUBH offers programs in Colleges of Business and Management, Engineering, and Architecture and Design. AUBH’s purpose-built campus in Riffa is a second home to a new calibre of student, nurtured and mentored by hand-picked faculty with the best international and local expertise. As the first American-style University in Bahrain, AUBH takes a unique approach to learning, going beyond imparting knowledge to giving students access to real world scenarios and practical case-based learning. Complete with the latest in learning technology, Library, labs, and a Sports Center, the Campus is alive with the buzz of academic and extra-curricular life, amongst a multi-cultural student body.
